DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

STUDY PERMIT

 

Stakeholders Involved:

• Designated Learning Institution in Canada
• An Applicant
• 3rd Party Representative: Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, Immigration Lawyer
• Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

 

Documents Required for Online Study Permit Application:

Please note that there is a slight difference between paper and online work permit application. Please consult with your reliable 3rd party representative for more information.

 

1. Submission Letter (from 3rd Party Representative): Outlines overall table of contents of the application. This document is not mandatory, but highly recommended.
2. Application for Study Permit made Outside of Canada (IMM 1294)/Inside Canada (IMM 5709): Explains the applicant’s overall background information.
3. Family Information Form (IMM 5707). No applicable for Inside Canada application.
4. Use of Representative (IMM 5476): A document that indicates a relationship between a 3rd party representative and an applicant.
5. Custodianship Declaration (IMM 5646): Required if the main applicant is less than 17 years old. Students younger than 17 years of age who come to Canada to study and who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must be cared for by a responsible adult in Canada. This person is known as a custodian.
6. Letter of Acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution.
7. Proof of Funds: A single student requires to pay tuition fee, and a minimum of CAD $10,000 for living expenses of 12 months (Quebec requires $11,000 instead of $10,000).
8. Digital Photo: Photo of an applicant.
9. Photocopy of Passport Information of the Applicant.
10. Government Fee Payment Receipt.
11. Photocopy of Marriage Certificate: Required if married.
12. PAL (Provincial Attestation Letter)
 

 

POST GRADUATE WORK PERMIT

2. Application to Change Conditions, Extend My Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker (IMM 5710): Explains the applicant’s overall background information.
3. Digital Photo: Photo of an applicant.
4. Use of Representative (IMM 5476): A document that indicates a relationship between a 3rd party representative and an applicant.
5. Photocopy of Passport Information of the Applicant.
6. Photocopy of current/previous visa of the Applicant.
7. Diploma, transcript from Designated Learning Institution.
