LMIA (NOC 0, 1, 2, and 3) + WORK PERMIT + PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM
This is one of the most popular options that numerous immigrants pursue to immigrate to Canada. The applicant must first have an eligible employer in Canada that is willing to sponsor them through an LMIA. The employer must provide a high-skilled job position, which usually falls under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3.
Once the employer successfully obtains the LMIA with the specific foreign worker’s name, the applicant can apply for a work permit through online or paper applications.
If the applicant is from a visa-exempt country, they may apply for a work permit at a port of entry (POE) upon arrival in Canada. They must present the positive LMIA, a valid job offer, and other supporting documents.
If the applicant is from a visa-required country, they must apply for a work permit before traveling to Canada. This can be done online or through a paper application submitted to a visa application center.
Once the applicant successfully obtains the work permit, they can apply for eligible Provincial Nominee Programs depending on the region they are residing in Canada.
