WORK PERMIT FEES & PROCEDURES

Each type of Work Permit application have different ways to apply, and thus each has its own fees and procedures.

LMIA-BASED WORK PERMIT 

Government Fee: $155 CAD

Biometric Fee: $85 CAD (If Required)

Procedure: 

1. Acquire LMIA

a. Regular LMIA: Takes 8-12 months on average. 

b. PR Support LMIA: Takes 1-3 months on average. 

2. Apply for Work Permit

a. Online Application: Takes 1-3 months on average (mostly used method). 

b. Paper Application: Takes 3-4 months on average. However, IRCC recommends Online application unless unavoidable. 

3. Result Confirmation

SPOUSAL OPEN WORK PERMIT 

Government Fee: $255 CAD

Biometric Fee: $85 CAD (If Required)

Procedure: 

1. Apply for Work Permit 

a. Online Application: Takes 1-3 months on average (mostly used method). 

b. Paper Application: Takes 3-4 months on average. 

2. Result Confirmation

BRIDGING OPEN WORK PERMIT

Government Fee: $255 CAD

Biometric Fee: $85 CAD (If Required).

Procedure: 

1. Apply for Work Permit

a. Online Application: Takes 1-3 months on average (mostly used method). 

b. Paper Application: Takes 3-4 months on average. 

2. Result Confirmation

POST GRADUATE OPEN WORK PERMIT 

Government Fee: $255 CAD

Biometric Fee: $85 CAD (If Required)

Procedure: 

1. Receive Diploma/Letter of Graduation & Transcript from the Designated Post-Secondary Institution

2. Apply for Work Permit

a. Online Application: Takes 1-3 months on average (mostly used method). 

b. Paper Application: Takes 3-4 months on average.
